Vanya's First Day of Preschool

Here is Vanya, all ready for his first day of preschool! God really provided for us when we were able to find a spot for him at the very (very) last minute in Eau Claire where he loves to go and the teacher is great! The first day, he told me "mama, stay" several times. Thor and I did stay for a little while (and Thor cried big tears when we left) on the first day, and Vanya discovered all the wonderful things to do. Now when we get there (it is in a church), he walks right in and barely has time to say good-bye before he is busy on a project or with the other kids. But he is ready to come home when we come and pick him up. What a wonderful thing this is for all of us! Thor and I get a chance to play (sometimes we go home and he plays with all the trucks alone, and other days we go to a playground or the Sports Center. More about that another time).

We are settling into life in Eau Claire with Dave's internship. It is tough to figure out what is going on a lot of days, with no local phone or phone books or internet at the apartment. And the apartment is a little too reminiscent of my Chicago college apartments (100+ year old building). But we are getting there. We miss our yard (A LOT) and having family close by (A WHOLE LOT), but this is where God has put us for the year.
