State Fair

A fun day at the fair ... we happened to go on fire safety & prevention day. Nothing better for little boys! We did get to see animals, drink a bottomless glass of milk (great for our milk-loving Thor!), and see lots (and lots and lots) of people. Amazing to imagine what these little eyes see as we walk around and they see so many things for the first time.

Boys will be ... dogs?

One of the boys favorite activities is to pretend to be dogs! They have a faithful teacher in Irina, who most of the time plays along with them. She loves to clean up after them :)
Snack time for puppies!

Thor takes a drink ... yum???
Irina enjoys the end of the play time, when the boys have moved on to new games.
When I mentioned this game to our pediatrician, she said that it is advanced for Thor to do this sort of imaginitive play. Who knew that my son acting like a dog would demonstrate that he is smart! There are times when we use this game to our advantage as parents ... Puppy Vanya and Puppy Thor are very well behaved and obedient, while the boys aren't so much some days.
On another family note, Dave has gotten a position at Luther Midelfort Hospital in Eau Claire, WI as a Chaplin Resident. It is a one-year residency (tuition and all), giving him intense training and experience as a Chaplin. He did a summer position like this several years ago, and really enjoyed it. When this opportunity came along, we knew that God has been (and is!) working out all the details. We found an apartment we like enough in Eau Claire (about 100 miles from our home) and are preparing to make the change in life for the next year. We will keep our house in MN and have an apartment in WI. Fancy living (ha!) for the Bergstrom's! Please pray that all the details are worked out and that this will be a good year for Dave in his training and for our family, as we work to continue to grow together and strengthen our family in God.

Cousin-time

Dave's cousin Celia is just a few months older than Vanya, and we have been looking forward to a playdate with her. We finally had one this past week! It is so interesting to see how different they play ... she wanted to paint paper, not just her belly. Even Thor put the "paint" bottle (we now use bathtub paints, for the sake of cleaning!) right on his belly for painting time.

But she can change!

Note the pretty necklace that she wears, even with her suit. Ahh, the pretty girly things that just don't exist at the Bergstrom home.

Titus is now a month old (our newest nephew) and Thor is quite fascinated with the baby. When we went to visit him in the hospital, Vanya told us that he wanted to bring the baby home. Yikes! Can you imagine adding an infant to our lives right now? Well, maybe you can but we sure can't!

I knit Titus some cute baby leggings (for his skinny little legs) that you can go check out.
